codeandClaude Fable 5 340866f9f4 complete all stack READMEs to the 9-section template
Existing content preserved and reordered to the canonical section order;
missing sections generated from each stack's compose data (ports, volumes,
env vars, image links). Fixes copy-paste errors in Dockhand sections
(qbittorrent pointed at archivebox; invokeai/thunderbird said SERVICENAME)
and persistant->persistent typos in gatus.

# Code Server
## Overview
VS Code
## Project Details
- **Project Website:** [Link](https://code.visualstudio.com/)
- **Container Image:** [Docker Hub](https://hub.docker.com/r/linuxserver/code-server)
- **Reverse Proxy Port:** `8443`
## Getting Started
1. Start the container: `docker compose up -d`
2. Open http://localhost:8443 in your browser
3. Follow the initial setup wizard to configure the application
## Environment Variable Notes
Data directory:
```
- ${VOL_PATH:-./data}/vscode/data:/data
```
This is where all your code is stored, it should be set to your 1000 user. Then you can move your code here as that user.
Config Directory:
This is your home directory, your ssh keys are stored here.
## Volume Notes
/data host path /data/projects
/config host path /data/vscode/config
## Network Notes
Requires proxy network
## Docker Run
```bash
docker run -d \
--name vscode \
-p 8443:8443 \
-v /data/projects:/data \
-v /data/vscode/config:/config \
lscr.io/linuxserver/code-server:latest
```
See compose.yaml for the full set of environment variables.
## Additional Notes / Gotchas
For setup you need to set the user and group ID
you can do that by using ```id username```
or by changing the vol with ```chown -R user:group path/```
### Set git info
Open terminal and run:
```
git config --global user.name "Name"
git config --global user.email "your-email@example.com"
```
You also want to generate a key for your connection:
```
ssh-keygen -t ed25519 -C "c@nickyeoman.com"
cat ~/.ssh/id_ed25519.pub
```
## Dockhand Stack, Deploy from Git
Cookbooks Repository
stackname: vscode
Compose file path: vscode/compose.yaml
Additional env file (optional): vscode/sample.env
Then "Load" vscode/sample.env into the Environmental variables in dockhand
Create the Stack
## Nginx Proxy manager
If you are placing this behind NPM then you need to enable web sockets.
